Okay, Below are a collection of what I think are the best things I've read so far this fandom. (and when I get back to my comp I'm going to do one for SPN too.) I've organized it by Pairing. ^_^

Okay, because I think this needs to be said: If something is italisized it's because I copied & pasted it. These are the author's actual summaries and/or story quotes.

Update 08.31.2009: Added the final part to [livejournal.com profile] ninhursag's 'It's the Grammar of Skin' Verse to Spock-Uhura-Kirk. I'll be doing another update today or tomorrow.

Rich Text can still go to hell.

Two Men & A Motorbike by [livejournal.com profile] inell -- One of the few constants in James Kirk's life the last three years has been his best friend, Leonard McCoy. After saving Earth from a bunch of crazy time-traveling Romulans, Jim & Bones find out what happens when best friends cross the line between friendship and something more after a late night ride on Jim's motorbike. There are good times and bad times, and times that are just plain complicated.

Glass Right Down the Middle -- Sequel to 'Fingerprints of Forgotten Memories'. “He still doesn’t like Jim going down to alien planets on his own, and it’s not just because of the whole I’m-the-Captain-hear-me-roar-and-watch-me-get-my-ass-handed-to-me thing that Jim’s got going on.” But sometimes you’re so focused on the danger to others that you forget about the danger to yourself.

Matchmaker, Matchmaker by [livejournal.com profile] classics_geek -- In which there is an exasperated Bones, a conniving Uhura, and a not-quite-so oblivious Jim Kirk.

Comforting Each Other With Apples by [livejournal.com profile] blcwriter -- "Bones isn't a sentimental bastard most of the time, but right now he is and it's the proudest moment of his life to stand in this room with a crew full of people he doesn't particularly like and his best friend in the world. He's not going to make fun of the fact Jim's eyes are glimmering since his own are-- but they aren't glimmering too hard for Bones to toss him that apple, and for Jim to catch it one-handed, with a smile just for Bones."

Twice Shy by [livejournal.com profile] sarka -- Bones is a werewolf. The moment he meets James Kirk and got a good whiff of his scent, he knew he was fucked. His presence changes everything – and leads to life-altering revelations for Jim and Spock. A story about growth, self-discovery, and new beginnings.

The Sun Will Rise Verse by [livejournal.com profile] vampiric_mcd -- Earth was also destroyed. At a rendezvous with the remaining humans and Vulcans, the Vulcans more or less take charge and enslave the humans to rebuild their species with fertile humans. Since they’re so rare as well, the Vulcans don’t think they’ll offer much resistance. Spock becomes captain of the Enterprise once more and gets his pick of the crew. Despite everyone thinking he’ll choose Uhura, he picks a rebellious Kirk.

Chipmunk! by [livejournal.com profile] chibinecco -- Spock and kirk beam down to find the operatives, but complications arise. Awesome awesome fic. I can't for the life of me understand why I seem to be the only one reading it. O.o

The Seasons Change by [livejournal.com profile] le_culdesac -- Set almost immediately after the film, something wakes up in Kirk as he and Spock eat together for the first time. The mess hall's a rather unremarkable backdrop but it sets the stage for the start of something grander. It takes an intimate linguistics lesson and a disastrous landing party mission that results in the two being stuck in a biotent with only one sleeping bag before they realise the obvious.

It's the Grammar of Skin (peel it back, let me in) by [livejournal.com profile] ninhursag -- In the tense aftermath of the Narada, Spock and Uhura break things off. Kirk may possibly object to this a little (or a lot). Then there's the standard away mission of doom that changes everything.

It's the Grammar of Skin (shout out and shake him) -- Sequel to 'It's the Grammar of Skin (peel it back, let me in)'. You know how sometimes aliens make them do it and then everything just slides into place and is awesome the morning after? Here, not so much!
